Stage Manager
YPT seeks an experienced non-equity stage manager for its spring 2009 Express Tour (3/23-5/16/09) of student-written work. The Express Tour is a daytime weekday tour of 5-6 short plays in rep, with one week of evening performances at GALA Hispanic Theatre. The SM coordinates and manages three weeks of rehearsals and five weeks of performances, including approximately 45 performances at a variety of venues including schools, childrens’ hospitals and professional theatres (usually two venues per day). The SM drives the YPT tour bus, runs sound during performances and coordinates/participates in all load ins/outs. Must work quickly and independently, work well with others and have a sense of humor under pressure. Reports directly to the Production Manager.
B.A./B.F.A. required, M.F.A. preferred. Must have experience coordinating a tour, running sound and managing rehearsals.

Young Playwrights’ Theater (YPT) seeks to cast a diverse group of 3-5 young non-equity male actors for its spring 2009 Express Tour. All positions paid. The Express Tour is a daytime tour throughout Greater Washington of 5-6 short student-written works, produced with basic props, costumes, settings and sound design. The acting company also serves as the crew. Rehearsals run March 23-April 8, with performances at approximately two venues per day from April 9 through May 15, with a week of evening performances as well at GALA Hispanic Theatre in early May.
